Because behind every bottle there’s a story. And often, it’s that very story that gives a different meaning to what we find in our glass.

And behind these words, and behind this space, there’s me: Samuel Capizzi, better known as Sam.
My passion for whiskey didn’t begin at a specific moment, nor was it a sudden revelation. It’s something that has always been with me, like a discreet yet constant presence.
My father raised a toast the day I was born, and ever since then, during many of the important moments in my life: celebrations, gatherings, anniversaries, or farewells. There’s always been a glass of whisky at hand.
This is no coincidence. Whisky has become a familiar presence, almost a silent companion in the moments that matter.
Over time, I’ve learned to associate it not only with the pleasure of its taste, but above all with the people and moments surrounding that glass: family, friends, conversations, memories, and those small gestures that, without us even realizing it, end up becoming part of our story.
For me, whisky is also this: a way to pause for a moment, share something, and toast to life, with all its shades.e version)

Qui il whisky racconta la sua storia, dalle sue umili origini fino alla sua evoluzione nel tempo. Ma soprattutto racconta le persone che lo hanno prodotto, bevuto, condiviso e portato con sé attraverso generazioni e culture diverse.

E dietro queste parole, e dietro questo spazio, ci sono io: Samuel Capizzi, meglio conosciuto come Sam.
La mia passione per il whisky non è nata in un momento preciso, né è stata una rivelazione improvvisa. È qualcosa che mi ha sempre accompagnato, come una presenza discreta ma costante.
Mio padre ha brindato il giorno in cui sono nato e, da allora, in molti dei momenti importanti della mia vita, feste, incontri, ricorrenze o addii, c’è sempre stato un bicchiere di whisky a portata di mano.
Non per caso. Il whisky è diventato una presenza familiare, quasi un compagno silenzioso nei momenti che contano.
Con il tempo ho imparato ad associarlo non soltanto al piacere del gusto, ma soprattutto alle persone e ai momenti che stanno intorno a quel bicchiere: la famiglia, gli amici, le conversazioni, i ricordi e quei piccoli gesti che, senza che ce ne accorgiamo, finiscono per diventare parte della nostra storia.
Per me, il whisky è anche questo: un modo per fermarsi un momento, condividere qualcosa e brindare alla vita, con tutte le sue sfumature.

Aus diesem Funken entsteht dieser Ort.
Ein Ort, an dem Whisky auf Musik, Literatur, Kultur und Traditionen trifft. Eine Möglichkeit, vom Whisky auch durch alles zu erzählen, was ihn umgibt: die Menschen, die Geschichten, die Orte, die Rituale und jene Momente, die schließlich zu Erinnerungen werden.
Hier erzählt der Whisky seine Geschichte, von seinen bescheidenen Anfängen bis hin zu seiner Entwicklung im Laufe der Zeit. Vor allem aber erzählt er von den Menschen, die ihn hergestellt, getrunken, geteilt und über Generationen und Kulturen hinweg weitergetragen haben.
Denn hinter jeder Flasche steckt eine Geschichte. Und oft ist es genau diese Geschichte, die dem, was wir im Glas vorfinden, eine ganz andere Bedeutung verleiht.

Und hinter diesen Worten und hinter diesem Ort stehe ich: Samuel Capizzi, besser bekannt als Sam.
Meine Leidenschaft für Whisky entstand weder zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt, noch war sie eine plötzliche Offenbarung. Sie ist etwas, das mich schon immer begleitet hat, wie eine diskrete, aber beständige Präsenz.
Mein Vater stieß an dem Tag an, an dem ich geboren wurde, und seitdem gab es in vielen wichtigen Momenten meines Lebens: bei Feiern, Begegnungen, Jubiläen oder Abschieden. Immer war ein Glas Whisky griffbereit.
Das ist kein Zufall. Whisky ist zu einer vertrauten Begleiterscheinung geworden, fast schon zu einem stillen Begleiter in den Momenten, auf die es ankommt.
Mit der Zeit habe ich gelernt, ihn nicht nur mit dem Genuss des Geschmacks zu verbinden, sondern vor allem mit den Menschen und Momenten, die dieses Glas umgeben: die Familie, Freunde, Gespräche, Erinnerungen und jene kleinen Gesten, die, ohne dass wir es merken, schließlich Teil unserer Geschichte werden.
Für mich ist Whisky auch das: eine Möglichkeit, einen Moment innezuhalten, etwas zu teilen und auf das Leben anzustoßen – mit all seinen Facetten.
