3 YEARS of S.M.C.

Time has a way of making itself felt.

It feels like just yesterday when I started writing down my thoughts and buying video production equipment.

And here we are, celebrating the third anniversary of the Sam’s Moonshiner Crew channel and the first anniversary of our website.

At times like this, I naturally find myself taking stock, mentally and emotionally, of all the significant moments that have shaped my journey over the past year.

To say there have been many would be an understatement.

Yet, rather than dwelling on individual milestones, I’d like to reflect on what has made this journey so special.

The encounters, first and foremost. The people I’ve met along the way, the conversations that sprang up almost by chance, the shared passions, and those friendships that sometimes end up going far beyond the reason we first met.

There have been trips, events, tastings, and occasions that have allowed me to discover new realities, hear interesting stories, and view the world of whisky from ever-changing perspectives.

And then there are those moments that rarely make it into a schedule or a program, but which, looking back, resurface with particular pleasure.

When I reflect on this past year, I realize that the greatest value of this project lies not so much in what we’ve managed to accomplish, but in the people and experiences that have helped shape it.

As I’ve come to say every year by now, you’re also part of the Crew!

That said, the time has come to fill our glasses and raise a toast to all our friends and collaborators, without whom our presence here on the web would be nothing more than a trivial pastime.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you.

A toast to my parents and my entire family. We sometimes forget it, but it’s really thanks to them that we’re here. Thanking them for this seems like the least we can do.

Another thank you, for all the technical, emotional, and sentimental support, goes to someone who’s essential to the creation of my videos: my wife.

By the way, she officially became my wife on October 28, 2026.

And finally, since today is November 1, let’s raise our last toast to our loved ones who are no longer with us, lighting a white candle for them.

It’s our duty to honor their memory.

And, of course, thank you too, dear reader.

Because, after all, this journey wouldn’t be the same without those who choose to share it with us.

And when I think about everything that lies ahead for us in the coming year, I can only say that the journey is far from over. In fact, I have a feeling there will be plenty to share. 😎🥃
