solidarity, subculture, and heart
On Friday, February 6, the city of Innsbruck hosted an evening that brought together music, community, and concrete solidarity. At P.M.K. Innsbruck, one of the landmarks of local alternative culture, the Quintessenz Kulturverein association organized a special event: a charity auction as part of an evening of music, bingo, a market, and lots of good cheer.
I was there with my wife, Denise (Belva Bones), who had a stand at the event. The atmosphere was lively and authentic. It wasn't the usual formal charity event, but something more human and sincere.
when culture becomes real support
The proceeds from the evening will be donated to obdachlose.at, an organization committed to supporting homeless people.
Donating to those in extremely fragile social situations is not just a symbolic gesture, but a concrete way to restore dignity and hope.

Quintessenz's work stems from a clear vision: to give space to what often remains on the margins.
The collective organizes concerts, exhibitions, and screenings related to subcultures, countercultures, and artistic realities that deserve more attention and audience. More than just entertainment, we can talk about community building.
These initiatives, in my opinion, demonstrate how culture can become a concrete tool for social change.
a lively evening with a deeper purpose
The evening of March 6 was anything but static. Good music, bingo, exchanges, encounters, and lots of laughter.
But beneath this energy, something more important could be felt: the feeling of being part of something useful. Participating in an event and, at the same time, contributing to a cause.
why it is important to talk about these evenings
We live in an age where negative news makes more noise. Yet every day there are people, associations, and communities building something good.
Telling these stories serves to remind us that solidarity is not an abstract concept. It is made up of events, people, music, art, commitment, and real presence.
And sometimes, just being there is enough.
Participating.
Supporting.
Telling.

Venerdì 6 febbraio, nella città di Innsbruck, si è svolta una serata che ha unito musica, comunità e solidarietà concreta.
Al PMK Innsbruck, uno dei punti di riferimento per la cultura alternativa locale, l’associazione Quintessenz Kulturverein ha organizzato un evento speciale: un’ asta solidale inserita all’interno di una serata fatta di musica, tombola, mercatino e tanto buon umore.Ero presente insieme a mia moglie, Belva Bones, che aveva uno stand all’interno della manifestazione. L’atmosfera era viva e autentica. Non la classica beneficenza formale, ma qualcosa di più umano e sincero.
Quando la cultura diventa supporto reale
Il ricavato della serata sarà devoluto a obdachlose.at, realtà impegnata nel supporto alle persone senza dimora.
Donare a chi vive situazioni di estrema fragilità sociale non è solo un gesto simbolico, ma un modo concreto per restituire dignità e speranza.
È un tema che personalmente mi tocca molto. Chi mi segue sa perfettamente di cosa stia parlando. Per capire meglio, leggi la fiaba della Piccola Fiammiferaia, di Hans Christian Andersen. Dietro ad ogni persona invisibile per strada esiste una storia.
Quintessenz: cultura come responsabilità sociale
Il lavoro di Quintessenz nasce da una visione precisa: dare spazio a ciò che spesso rimane ai margini.
Il collettivo organizza concerti, mostre e proiezioni legate a subculture, controculture e realtà artistiche che meritano più attenzione e pubblico. Più che di semplice intrattenimento, possiamo parlare di costruzione di comunità.
Queste iniziative, a parer mio, dimostrano come la cultura possa diventare uno strumento concreto di cambiamento sociale.
Una serata movimentata, ma con uno scopo profondo
La serata del 6 marzo è stata tutto fuorché statica.
Buona musica, tombola, scambi, incontri e parecchie risate.Ma sotto questa energia si percepiva qualcosa di più importante: la sensazione di far parte di qualcosa di utile.
Partecipare a un evento e, allo stesso tempo, contribuire a una causa.Perché raccontare queste serate è importante
Viviamo in un’epoca in cui le notizie negative fanno più rumore.
Eppure, ogni giorno esistono persone, associazioni e comunità che costruiscono qualcosa di buono.Raccontare queste storie serve a ricordare che la solidarietà non è un concetto astratto. È fatta di eventi, persone, musica, arte, impegno e presenza reale.
E, a volte, basta esserci.
Partecipare.
Sostenere.

Am Freitag, dem 6. Februar, fand in Innsbruck ein Abend statt, der Musik, Gemeinschaft und konkrete Solidarität vereinte. Im PMK Innsbruck, einem der Bezugspunkte für die lokale alternative Kultur, organisierte der Verein Quintessenz Kulturverein eine besondere Veranstaltung: eine Solidaritätsauktion im Rahmen eines Abends mit Musik, Tombola, Markt und viel guter Laune.
Ich war zusammen mit meiner Frau, Denise (Belva Bones) dort, die einen Stand auf der Veranstaltung hatte. Die Atmosphäre war lebhaft und authentisch. Es war keine klassische formelle Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltung, sondern etwas Menschlicheres und Aufrichtigeres.
Wenn Kultur zu echter Unterstützung wird
Der Erlös des Abends geht an obdachlose.at, eine Organisation, die sich für die Unterstützung von Obdachlosen einsetzt.
Spenden an Menschen, die in extremer sozialer Not leben, sind nicht nur eine symbolische Geste, sondern eine konkrete Möglichkeit, ihnen Würde und Hoffnung zurückzugeben.
Dieses Thema liegt mir persönlich sehr am Herzen. Wer mir folgt, weiß genau, wovon ich spreche. Um das besser zu verstehen, lies das Märchen „Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern” von Hans Christian Andersen. Hinter jedem unsichtbaren Menschen auf der Straße steckt eine Geschichte.
Quintessenz: Kultur als soziale Verantwortung
Die Arbeit von Quintessenz entspringt einer klaren Vision: dem, was oft am Rande bleibt, Raum zu geben.
Das Kollektiv organisiert Konzerte, Ausstellungen und Filmvorführungen zu Subkulturen, Gegenkulturen und künstlerischen Realitäten, die mehr Aufmerksamkeit und Publikum verdienen. Mehr als nur Unterhaltung, können wir hier von Gemeinschaftsbildung sprechen.
Diese Initiativen zeigen meiner Meinung nach, wie Kultur zu einem konkreten Instrument des sozialen Wandels werden kann.
Ein ereignisreicher Abend mit einem tiefen Sinn
Der Abend des 6. März war alles andere als statisch. Gute Musik, Tombola, Austausch, Begegnungen und viel Gelächter.
Aber unter dieser Energie war etwas Wichtigeres zu spüren: das Gefühl, Teil von etwas Sinnvollem zu sein. An einer Veranstaltung teilzunehmen und gleichzeitig einen Beitrag für einen guten Zweck zu leisten.
Warum es wichtig ist, über diese Abende zu berichten
Wir leben in einer Zeit, in der negative Nachrichten mehr Aufsehen erregen. Und doch gibt es jeden Tag Menschen, Vereine und Gemeinschaften, die etwas Gutes aufbauen.
Das Erzählen dieser Geschichten dient dazu, daran zu erinnern, dass Solidarität kein abstraktes Konzept ist. Sie besteht aus Veranstaltungen, Menschen, Musik, Kunst, Engagement und realer Präsenz.
Und manchmal reicht es schon, einfach da zu sein.
Teilzunehmen.
Zu unterstützen.
Zu erzählen.
