The historic Bunnahabhain distillery, located on the north coast of Islay, has announced a new limited edition of its famous single malt: the 21 Year Old Cask Strength, 2025 Edition. This release celebrates the brand's elegant, maritime character, offering a rich and deep aromatic profile.
Bottled at 53.1%, unchillfiltered and with no added colorants, this whisky is the result of a long maturation in ex-Oloroso casks, followed by 21 months of refinement in Pedro Ximénez casks. This process imparts complexity and warmth, with notes of dried fruit, toffee, and dark chocolate blending with hints of spicy oak and a delicate salty breeze, typical of the Bunnahabhain style.
The 2025 Edition continues the distillery's tradition of ‘Cask Strength’ versions: pure, untamed expressions that aim to showcase the whisky as it is born in the cask, in its most authentic form.

La storica distilleria di Bunnahabhain, situata sulla costa settentrionale di Islay, ha annunciato una nuova edizione limitata del suo celebre single malt: la 21 Year Old Cask Strength – 2025 Edition. Un rilascio che celebra il carattere elegante e marittimo del marchio, offrendo un profilo aromatico ricco e profondo.
Imbottigliato a 53,1%, non filtrato a freddo e senza coloranti aggiunti, questo whisky è il risultato di una lunga maturazione in botti ex-Oloroso, seguita da 21 mesi di affinamento in botti di Pedro Ximénez. Un passaggio che regala complessità e calore, con note di frutta secca, toffee e cioccolato fondente che si fondono a sentori di quercia speziata e un delicato soffio salino, tipico dello stile Bunnahabhain.
La 2025 Edition prosegue la tradizione delle versioni “Cask Strength” della distilleria: espressioni pure, non addomesticate, che mirano a mostrare il whisky così come nasce in botte, nella sua forma più autentica.

Die historische Destillerie Bunnahabhain an der Nordküste von Islay hat eine neue limitierte Auflage ihres berühmten Single Malts angekündigt: den 21 Year Old Cask Strength – 2025 Edition. Eine Abfüllung, die den eleganten, maritimen Charakter der Marke zelebriert und ein reichhaltiges, tiefes Aromaprofil bietet.
Dieser Whisky wird mit 53,1 % abgefüllt, ist nicht kühlgefiltert und enthält keine zusätzlichen Farbstoffe. Er ist das Ergebnis einer langen Reifung in ehemaligen Oloroso-Fässern, gefolgt von einer 21-monatigen Veredelung in Pedro-Ximénez-Fässern. Ein Prozess, der ihm Komplexität und Wärme verleiht, mit Noten von Trockenfrüchten, Toffee und Zartbitterschokolade, die sich mit einem Hauch von würziger Eiche und einer zarten salzigen Note vermischen, die typisch für den Stil von Bunnahabhain ist.
Die 2025 Edition setzt die Tradition der „Cask Strength”-Versionen der Brennerei fort: reine, ungezähmte Ausdrucksformen, die den Whisky so zeigen wollen, wie er im Fass entsteht, in seiner authentischsten Form.
